Marble Cleaning in New Jersey

Marble floors and countertops look great in any home. Over time marble does lose it's luster though. These tips will help you maintain your marble's lustrous shine:
  • Protect your marble from scratches – Marble is a rather soft stone in comparison to other stones and will scratch easier than you think. If you have marble floors, place plastic pads on the bottoms of any furniture legs. This will prevent the furniture from gouging the marble. Use cutting boards on any marble countertop to prevent any damage.
  • Clean marble frequently – Despite being a stone, marble is very porous and stains settle very quickly. Clean up any spills immediately with a soft rag. For daily cleaning, use a rag dampened with warm water to clean any dust or small spills. Rub the marble in a circular motion. Scrubbing could lead to potential damage. Don't leave any pools of water on marble. Instead use a second dry cloth and pickup any residual water.
  • Deep Cleaning – Use a light dish soap, or a marble cleaner to clean any debris that has accumulated on your marble floors or countertop. Dilute the substance in a little warm water and use a soft cloth to clean it. DO NOT use vinegar to clean marble. It's high acidity can cause marble to corrode.
